AATSEEL.org propose Student the Phonetic layout for Russian typing that was widely used in Windows 3/95/98 time frame as a 3rd party "Russian typing programs but now, it is used as an alternative layout for the system keyboard tools in Windows XP and newer. You can uninstall it easy; just just have to click on Setup.exe file and after extracting all the files from the ZIP you can download. You can also make active the standard Russian layout again instead of this Phonetic one by either running Setup again and selecting "Uninstall" option or by adding the standard Russian keyboard layout for the Russian Input Language in Control Panel and then placing a cursor to a Phonetic layout and clicking on Remove. Now for Russian input only standard keyboard layout is listed as active.
