Publisher description for BibleMax Greek Old Testament (Septuagint)
According to tradition, between the 3th. and 1st. century BC, a group of seventy Hebrew scholars translated the Torah, or Old Testament, to the Greek language under the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus. This effort produced the Septuagint, which is the oldest of all Greek versions of the Bible. Its name means "seventy" and refers to the number of scholars that carried out the translation. This version of the Bible was widely used between those helenistic Jews who were losing their Hebrew language. Now Biblemaximum offers you the opportunity of owning this important version of the Scriptures through their BibleMax software.
