Intel (R) PROSet/Wireless is to manage wireless connections when an intel-wireless-network device is present in the system. It is free of cost and easy to work with. It makes the wireless adapter to communicate with device that completes the requirements of IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n standards. It will be using the 16kb of memory when running on Windows XP. It runs as a file named iFrmewrk.exe. You can check the details of your wireless connections like their name, strength and speed. It also offers other features like profile configuration, network scanning and troubleshoot etc. You will see the status of connection with the help of icon like turned off, limited connectivity and properties etc. When you connect with a new wireless network, its profile is created. This profile is important because it helps you in determining to which network you should be connected. You can export these profiles as well. To manage the issues that come up while connecting with network, troubleshoot option is available. Issues can be based on IP, authentication problem, driver installation or compatibility issues. When the wireless is turned off, you cannot exit the network from tray icon. It supports Windows 2000* (Service Pack 4), Microsoft Windows XP Professional* (Service Pack 1 or later), Microsoft Windows XP Home* (Service Pack 1 or later) and Microsoft Windows XP Tablet.
